“Here comes one! Get ready!” I could hear the excitement in Jeff’s voice as
I raised my shotgun and focused on the rooster pheasant flying towards us
in our blind. It was like Jeff and I were one as we both took proper aim and shot. Only one shot could be heard as we shot in unison. The results were instantly observed as the rooster folded and dropped not ten feet from where we stood.
“Breathing, sight alignment, and trigger squeeze.” Those three areas are taught as the fundamentals of shooting in the US Army. Since medically leaving the Army two months before, I struggle still with finding purpose and happiness in my current situation. Three years ago, I was a Team Leader for one of the greatest Special Operations elements in the greatest country
in the world.

LANSING, MI – The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has announced changes to the state’s 2021 deer hunting regulations.
The changes, which are meant to further simplify deer regulations and remove barriers to hunting participation, go into effect with the start of the 2021 deer hunting seasons in September.
Read MoreThe bill would amend the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act (NREPA) to do the following:
-- Prohibit an individual 18 years of age or older from hunting pheasants without a current annual pheasant hunting license.
-- Establish a $25 fee for an annual pheasant hunting license.
-- Specify certain public and private in which an individual could hunt pheasant without an
annual pheasant hunting license.
Lori is the niece of Roger and the late Debra Card and a member of Mid-Michigan SCI Chapter. Lori grew up in a hunting family, but as a child wasn’t part of the “guys” hunting trips, but felt that the ladies should be able to participate in these hunting trips as well.
