Michigan State High School Trap Tournament

What a great day we had yesterday, the weather could not have been better, and the event went very smoothly.  There were over 700 students participating yesterday and another 700 who are shooting today.  It seems the Michigan State High School Trap Tournament is getter bigger and better each year.

We had 11 students participating with many siblings, parents and grandparents cheering them on (See photos attached).  A special shout out to the Boerman's and Busscher for hosting us for lunch.  The food was great, and I think a good time was had by all.

Congratulations to Bennett LoDuca for being our top gun in the tournament with a score of 88 out of 100!  Bennett was also able to shoot a 25 straight in one of his 4 rounds. Congrats to Jackson Busscher for second place finish in the male novice category with a score of 84!  We also had two others, Luke Groenheide and Chase Grassmid, finish with 84.  Great job everyone, thanks for participating in this year's tournament.

That wraps up our season!  I again want to say thanks to our coaches, our sponsors including the Mid-Michigan Chapter of SCI, and our host club Chick-Owa for another great year.  I also appreciate the support and backing of the parents who have been there all along to cheer on their students.

To the students I want to say once again, GREAT JOB!  We saw a lot of nice improvements in your scores; you kept everyone safe and had fun doing it.  More importantly you behaved in a way that honored Jesus Christ. Thank you. 

I also want to say that your trap shooting does not have to end here.  For our seniors, Luke, Owen, Trenton and Seth, I hope trap shooting is something you enjoy for the rest of your lives.  For our returning students, I want to encourage you to get out and shoot.  Keep working on the fundamentals, your focus and have fun with it.  Next year will be here before you know it.
