On Friday, May 1st, 2026 our chapter hosted its second "Boomstick Bingo" event at the Great Hall in Midland. We had over 80 people in attendance and everyone had a fabulous and unforgettable time! The event started at 5pm and people were waiting with excitement to get in at the door. As people walked in, they were met with raffles and an cash bar. After getting their favorite drinks, people walked over to see the multiple raffles that were going on to win a cooler/grill combo, a Vortex Binoculars set, and a Walk Around Gun (Buckmark .22 Pistol).
At 5:45pm, dinner was served by the Great Hall which included amazing pork, roasted chicken, red potatoes, salad, and mixed vegetables. After dinner and before Bingo all the veterans and first responders in the room were recognized for their service to our country and community. Each one was entered into a free raffle and two winners were given prizes.
After giving away those prizes, Bingo started! The room was filled with energy and excitement as the first four games of bingo were played. The winner of each round had their choice between a firearm or $300 as the prize. After the first four games, we had a brief halftime where a representative from the Four Lakes Task Force came up to talk about the projects the task force is currently working on for fish habitat and wildlife management on the four local lakes (Sanford, Wixom, Smallwood, and Secord). After the presentation, we had a 50/50 raffle to raise money for these projects. We were able to raise $660 for the cause and our chapter donated an extra $500 to support the projects. The winner of the 50/50 raffle also donated $100 back to the Four Lakes Task Force, making the total amount raised to $1,260. This is one of the many examples of our chapter raising money for our local communities and supporting conservation.
After halftime, the Bingo event continued with four more games of bingo and an extra game of bingo because there were still firearms left over. The raffle prizes were drawn after the games and the event was over. There were many laughs, smiles, and drinks shared by everyone in attendance. People were shouting and having fun and that's what events like these are all about. Thanks again to everyone that was in attendance and look for future event information for our Bingo event in December!
