Meet The 2025 Board Candidates
Hello, my name is Brandon Jurries, and I am currently serving the Mid-Michigan Chapter SCI
as Vice-President and am President Elect. I have been on Mid-Michigan’s
board since 2017 and consider this board part of my family. I enjoy time
with my family and friends, hunting and fishing and try to do it as much as
possible. My wife Tracy and I’s most recent hunting trip was Spain for Ibex,
the memories and friendships made with last a lifetime. For me though, it’s
more than hunting or fishing. It’s about the people you meet along the way,
the blue bags that you bring to schools all over the world, and the friendships
that you create with people with similar beliefs and support for the outdoors.
I am excited for our chapters’ future and will work hard to expand our support for conservation,
hunting and wildlife management throughout Michigan and across the globe. I am asking for
your vote to continue on the Mid-Michigan Chapter Board of Directors for another 3-year term.
Thank you for considering me and may the next 3 years be our best ever!

Hello everyone, my name is Ashley Leyder and I want to start out by saying how thankful I am
to be a part of this board; it has been a great experience and the support you
have provided to youth programs (and many more programs) is inspirational
to say the least. My time on the board has been short compared to others but
I have enjoyed being a part of the efforts. Last year I was Co-chair for the
wonderful successful fundraiser we had in February, while it’s lots of work, it
is worth it. I hope to continue to contribute my knowledge and experiences to
the board through youth efforts to keep our future of hunting and conservation
alive and well for many years to come. The board provides so many
opportunities for so many programs that would otherwise not be possible, and I am blessed to
be a part of it. Thank you for your time and please vote for me so I can continue to serve for the
next 3 years.

I’d like to introduce myself; I’m Doug Chapin. I’m a farmer in Mecosta County.
I’ve been a hunter since childhood. I believe that SCI is the premier hunter
advocacy organization. Our Mid-Michigan chapter has a great history; it also
has a great future. I’ve enjoyed serving on our Board for several years. I would
appreciate your vote and the opportunity to continue to serve at least another 3
years and give back to the community of hunters.

Hello, I am Tabor Zieman and I am running for a board member position
with the Mid-Michigan SCI chapter. I have worked with and been apart of
this chapter for almost ten years now. I am currently serving on the board as
a director. I have helped with our big fundraiser at Soaring Eagle Casino for
around ten years now and have started to expand to other events and things
involving SCI. I have worked table games and have helped with setting up for
the Soaring Eagle convention for a long time and have brought new ideas for
games the past couple of years. I am currently working on a new membership
event and can’t wait for it to happen in the future. I enjoy hunting and boating during the
summer. I have hunted in Michigan, Montana, and Kansas. I am very excited to go hunting in
South Africa for the first time next year! I have always cared about this chapter and the people in
it. I want to carry on the tradition of this chapter and continue to make it great! Thank you for
your consideration!

Hello, My name is Dan Hamilton, and I am running for a director position on
the SCI Mid-Michigan chapter board. For nearly 10 years I have supported this
chapter at the Annual Hunter’s Conventions. My responsibilities have changed
throughout the years from being an extra set on hands on set-up/take-down to
assisting the different standing Treasurers with the night’s financials. I spend
most of my free time, outside of deer season, golfing and camping with friends
and family. Throughout my years of participating with SCI I have learned that
this chapter is full of great people who work hard to keep it successful, and I
